KINO DER KUNST not only takes place in movie theaters and in our seven galleries, but also in museums and public places. Thus we come full circle. As part of our festival program we show a selection of installations of national and international artists.

Today we are presenting the Munich-born artist Julian Rosenfeldt and his "Trilogy of Failure" (2004/05). Julian Rosenfeldt is an internationally respected artists at the interface between narrative film and complex film installation. His imagery is suggestive since the late 90s - with obvious allusions to the baroque traditions of "theatrum mundi" - the (cinematic) play with illusion and reality and a life of eternal recurrence.

In line with KINO DER KUNST festival, the artist Julian Rosefeldt shows the first two parts of his "Trilogy of Failure" (2004/05) which were exhibited in this space once before and are now brought back to MaximiliansForum for the festival. In his more recent pieces, the trained architect works with 16 or 35mm film footage and develops large-scale works at the interface between narrative film and complex film installation. "The Soundmaker" (2004) and "Stunned Man" (2004) deal with the hopeless entanglements of people in their everyday rituals.
